IP DESK PHONE NOT RESPONDING

IP telephony refers to any phone system that uses an internet connection to send and receive voice data. Unlike a regular telephone that uses landlines to transmit analog signals, IP phones connect to the internet via a router and modem. Any phone on campus with an Ethernet cable plugged into it either from PC or directly from the source port is an IP phone

Some problems encountered on the IP phone are somethings that you can solve without the presence or intervention of the administrator. Experiencing issues with these phones can be for reasons to firmware update failure, the need for reboot, the need for reset.

In saving yourself of the down time due to your phone, try unplugging the cable at the back of the phone and reboot it. This action should solve frequent issues encountered with your IP phone.

NOTE: If problem persist, send for the attention of the IT administrator/technician.
